In our SFD group we explore the boundaries of functional polymer materials. We develop polymers with new functionalities and integrate them into devices to meet industrial and societal challenges in the fields of sustainable energy, water-management, healthcare & personal comfort. Research is divided into three categories: Energy Materials, Stimuli-responsive Materials and Nanostructured Materials. Our group follows the complete chains of knowledge; from organic synthesis to prototypes (molecule --> device). The integration of these new polymers in devices is what distinguishes our group from many other research groups. The group operates at the nexus between the basic sciences, applied sciences, and engineering, inspiring a variety of multidisciplinary projects and interactions. SFD collaborates with multinationals, small- and medium size enterprises, and facilitates start-ups.
